Dillon Reservoir Sunset Original Painting

Soft pastel on paper 18×24

Air. One of the 5 elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air & Ether). We often think of it only when the high winds come or we can’t catch our breath, but air has a soft side to. She dances through the sky moving the clouds, creating shapes and layers of colors that will never repeat the same way twice. I always thought I was drawn to bodies of water, being the water bearer in my Zodiac sign, but I actually think its the way that air sculpts water. Whether she is carving new edges by pushing water through the river beds, taking a break with the still waters of a lake, or moving through the rhythms with waves of the ocean, air is moving us all.

This sunset over Dillon Reservoir is air in motion. She stays still in the waters, creating a glass like lake, but in the sky, she pulses with passion layering light and shadow and color in a scene of poetry.

Description

This is an original soft pastel painting by Katie Jackson (Hutt). FRAME NOT INCLUDED

Shipped with a backboard, wrapped in a plastic sleeve, and encased in a stiff envelope or tube to ensure that it gets safely to your doorstep.

**To ensure the longevity of your piece please frame right away. Natural light and exposer to air or water are the enemy of artwork. A glass frame (as opposed to plastic) is always preferred. Choose a spot on the wall out of direct sunlight. To ensure your investment holds, I suggest framing with a professional framer or with framebridge who will seal the back of the frame to keep it from getting contaminated with dust, water, or anything else that could damage your painting. Learn more about frames here
