This workshop is a gentle invitation to slow down, activate your parasympathetic nervous system, and reconnect with the creative spark that lives within you.
In this two-hour session at Yetman Farm’s greenhouse, we’ll paint bright, juicy lemons surrounded by growing things and natural light. We’re painting nature, in nature, so you can bring that calm home with you when you hang it on your wall.
Here’s what science tells us: Being in nature activates your rest-and-digest response. Gouache is the most calming art supply to work with. Creative practice reduces anxiety and stress like meditation—except this is meditation in motion with more laughter. And just 20 minutes of creating has the same brain benefits as two weeks of exercise.
We’ll start with creative table top questions to build community, then dive into playful painting techniques where perfection isn’t invited but joy absolutely is. Your lemons don’t have to look like mine—they just have to feel like summer, like you. This is about trusting your intuition, embracing the happy accidents, and remembering you were born with the title “artist.”
Whether you’ve painted before or haven’t touched a brush in years, you are creative. This workshop is your chance to remember.
