Shipping and Returns Policy
A Note on Journeys
Each piece of art that leaves my studio begins a journey—from my hands to yours. I’ve come to see this transition as sacred, a moment when my creation becomes something new in your space.
Within five days of your order (unless we’ve arranged otherwise for commissions or pre-orders), your chosen artwork will be carefully wrapped and sent with all the care I can offer. Each original piece travels with insurance, a small protection against the unpredictable nature of journeys. When your package begins its travel, you’ll receive a gentle notification with tracking information, a way to follow its path to you.
All artwork ships free—not because shipping lacks value, but because I believe in transparency and simplicity in our exchange.
On Returns & Replacements
Perhaps you’ve felt this too: the vulnerability that comes with creating something that cannot be undone. As a mother and artist working alone to bring Modern Magic to life, I’ve had to make certain choices about how I steward this small business.
I don’t offer returns on artwork, journals or clothing and yet—this isn’t because I don’t care about your satisfaction. It’s because artwork is delicate, and each journey risks subtle changes. A second trip would only invite more possibility of damage to something I’ve created with intention and care.
What I offer instead is my promise: if your artwork arrives damaged, I will replace it at no cost to you. The quality of each piece matters deeply to me—every print is produced to exacting standards, each original created with attention to detail and durability.
I understand the leap of faith it takes to purchase art you haven’t held in your hands. This is why I strive for excellence in every piece that leaves my studio. Your trust is something I don’t take lightly.
When Things Arrive Differently Than Expected
If your package arrives with any issues, please reach out within seven days. Send a photo of the damage along with your order number to [email protected], and I’ll respond as quickly as I can. The replacement piece will be created and shipped with the same care as your original order.
Returns on Wallpaper
All my wallpaper is printed, rolled, and shipped by Spoonflower. I choose to partner with them in part due to high costs of having my papers manufactured and sold out of my home (and I have no idea where I would store that much wallpaper) but also because they strive to make a beautiful product with sustainable resources. Not every order comes out perfect but they have a satisfaction guarantee policy and will be happy to work with you on replacing or refunding your order. Just reach out the them.

On Creativity and Ownership
The images, artwork, and contents that unfold across this website emerge from quiet mornings, late nights, and moments stolen between motherhood and daily life. Each piece carries a piece of my story, my vision, my hands’ work.
All images and artwork—whether they have found new homes or remain in my care—are retained under copyright by Katie Leigh Jackson, the artist behind Modern Magic.
These creations may not be copied, collected, or used for personal or professional gain without written permission. This isn’t about restriction but rather about honoring the delicate relationship between creator and creation, about protecting the slow, intentional work that brings art into being.
If you’re interested in licensing or other uses of my work, please reach out to [email protected]. I’m open to conversations about how my art might live in different spaces, serving different purposes, while maintaining the integrity of its origins.
Thank you for understanding these policies. They exist not as barriers but as boundaries that allow Modern Magic to continue bringing beauty into the world, one piece at a time.
With gratitude,
Katie Leigh Jackson
