Rocky Mountain Landscape in Gouache
We learn very early that getting it right means getting it exact. That accuracy is the measure of skill. That the goal, in art as in life, is to reproduce what is in front of you as faithfully as possible.
This painting was made by letting go of all of that. With a Cézanne-inspired approach, this is what a mountain looks like when you stop trying to prove you saw it and simply let yourself remember how it felt.
There is something quietly liberating about hanging a piece like this on your wall. It is a daily reminder that control is not the same as mastery. That the loose stroke, the blurred edge, and bleeding colors aren't mistakes. They are where the life gets in.

Also a Workshop Experience: This is the painting we recreate together in the my Creative Spark workshops, here in Denver. You will practice color mixing, work with a limited palette, and discover firsthand what happens when you stop asking your art to look perfect and start letting it feel perfect. No experience necessary. The point is not to get it right. The point is to find out what you make when you stop trying to.
Care
To ensure the longevity of your piece please frame right away. Natural light and exposure to air or water are the enemy of artwork. A glass frame (as opposed to plastic) is always preferred. Choose a spot on the wall out of direct sunlight. For original artworks I always suggest having them framed by a professional framer for a sealed back that further portects your artwork.
Shipping
Shipping is calculated at checkout. All prints are made to order and will be shipped to me first for product inspection and then shipped to you. Expect delivery between 7-10 day. Originals will be safely packaged and provided extra insurance to ensure they arrive to you safely. Expect 7-10 days for delivery.
Shipped with a backboard, wrapped in a plastic sleeve, and encased in a stiff envelope or in a tube to ensure that it gets safely to your doorstep. Prints + original are on archival acid free paper.

Canvas Prints
Prints can also be made on canvas. Send me a note to get a quote on a canvas print order. Just tell me the size you're looking at and any other requirements you have (like depth or style of canvas if you know that info).
