Home is where I want to be.
I love having a space that I can’t wait to get back to. A place where my flowers grow in the summer, the fireplace is on in the winter, and there is as much wallpaper in it as I can fit.
To me, home is a place where all feel welcome and are given a space to rest, recharge, and connect.

This, Leave it to Beaver home that we purchased in January of 2020 is that home. We’ve put a lot of love into in the few years we’ve lived here and have plans to continue to make it our own. We don’t do renovations for resale value but because we want the space to work for us and reflect who we are–our Mid-Modern Spanish Revival aesthetic.
In the HGTV show, Home Town, Erin Napier paints a picture of how a home could look after they get done renovating it–A sweet watercolor painting that shows a home’s potential.
I loved this idea.
Not just to portray a visual of what a space could be but also to have as a keepsake of your home. Something you take with you if you move away or to pass down to your kids to remember the home they grew up in.
With our garden in full bloom I decided to paint our own home with a few details updated to what we hope to do to the outside once our budget allows. For now though, we’re loving our rocking chairs on the porch and the flowers growing strong in the yard. We love how much this place feels like home.
Why Commission a Custom Home Painting?
There’s something incredibly special about having a custom home painting. It’s more than just art; it’s a personal reflection of a place that holds countless memories. Whether it’s your first home, a vacation retreat, or the family home where you grew up, capturing it in a custom painting can evoke a sense of nostalgia and warmth.
A custom home painting can also make for a thoughtful housewarming gift. Imagine presenting new homeowners with a beautiful depiction of their new abode, perhaps even including their future dreams for the space. It’s a gift that says, “Welcome home” in the most heartfelt way.
The Magic of Homes in Storybooks
Homes depicted in storybooks have a unique charm. They often represent the ideal, cozy, inviting space that many of us dream about. By having a custom home painting, you’re essentially placing your own home into that storybook narrative. It’s like turning your personal sanctuary into a piece of art that could belong in a beloved children’s book, making it feel even more magical and enchanting.
Here is a quick photo I took of our home to reference for the painting.

The final painting has a few additions including the front door we plan on replacing in the next year, updated shutters, flower boxes, and new garage doors. The rest is pretty on point to the original but portrayed in a storybook fashion. It’s like having our home placed into a children’s book and I love how magical that feels.
Bringing Your Home to Life With a Custom Home Painting

Whether it’s to commemorate your current home, as a future vision for renovations, or as a unique housewarming gift, a custom home painting is a wonderful way to cherish and celebrate the place where so many memories are made. It’s an art piece that holds personal significance and transforms the everyday into something truly special.

Imagine walking into your living room and seeing a beautiful watercolor painting of your home, with every detail lovingly captured. It’s a reminder of the love and care you’ve put into your space, and a way to keep those memories close, no matter where life takes you.
Having a custom home painting is not just about the final piece; it’s about the journey of seeing your home through an artist’s eyes, appreciating the unique details that make it special, and celebrating the beauty of your personal sanctuary. Whether it’s the home you’re currently in or a beloved place from your past, capturing it in a custom painting can make the magic of home last forever.
