Story Behind The Art
Wild Strawberries captures the quiet joy of a rainy day harvest—fresh-picked berries from a dear friend’s garden from the chubby hands of my toddler. The dash of red on the earth is the true sign that it's finally summer. Robin Wall Kimmer share's her experience and the strawberry stories of her people in Braiding Sweetgrass and says it best,
"In our creation stories the origin of strawberries is important. Skywoman's beautiful daughter, whom she carried in her womb from Skyworld, grew on the good green earth, loving and loved by all the other beings. But tragedy befell her when she died giving birth to her twins, Flint and Sapling. Heartbroken, Skywoman buried her beloved daughter in the earth. Her final gifts, our most revered plants, grew from her body. The strawberry arose from her heart. In Potawatomi, the strawberry is ode min, the heart berry. We recognize them as the leaders of the berries, the first to bear fruit."
Care
To ensure the longevity of your piece please frame right away. Natural light and exposure to air or water are the enemy of artwork. A glass frame (as opposed to plastic) is always preferred. Choose a spot on the wall out of direct sunlight. For original artworks I always suggest having them framed by a professional framer for a sealed back that further portects your artwork.
Shipping
Shipping is calculated at checkout. All prints are made to order and will be shipped to me first for product inspection and then shipped to you. Expect delivery between 7-10 day. Originals will be safely packaged and provided extra insurance to ensure they arrive to you safely. Expect 7-10 days for delivery.
Shipped with a backboard, wrapped in a plastic sleeve, and encased in a stiff envelope or in a tube to ensure that it gets safely to your doorstep. Prints + original are on archival acid free paper.

Canvas Prints
Prints can also be made on canvas. Send me a note to get a quote on a canvas print order. Just tell me the size you're looking at and any other requirements you have (like depth or style of canvas if you know that info).
