I’ve always dreamt of having my own space to create. A place where there are no rules, no one to ask permission from. A place where wonder and magic and creativity can come alive and be transformed into whatever I want.
When we moved into our home right before the pandemic my dream was born. A house with enough space for the kids we want in the future and the creative spaces we needed now.
My atelier (French for workshop or studio) has become my home base for everything. I love being in this room. I’ll paint, draw, design, read, write, and meditate in this space. When I need some creative juices I’ll just sit in my little blue velvet chair and way for creativity to find me, she knows I’ll be in here.
In Feng Shui and wellness blogs they talk about separating your workspace from your meditation space, but for me, they’re one in the same. I think the only thing I don’t do in here is sleep, although I have taken a few cat naps on the floor when needed.
I talk about creating calm spaces in your home so that you can recharge, nourish yourself, and get inspired. Almost every room in our home creates some sort of grounding and restful environment, but this space nourishes and inspires in ways that keep my creative flow moving and provide me with everything I need to create.
Come take a step into my calm space. The place where the magic happens and creations are made. Come take a tour of my atelier.
