Anxiety, self-doubt, comparison, ego, and depression are just a few the mindsets I might travel through when sitting down at my work. It’s the devil and angel on your shoulder, battling it out to be heard and more often than not, it’s the devil that wins. That negative voice convinces you that you’re not doing it right, or perhaps, even worse, that you’re just not good enough.
In the past year, I’ve been hard at work trying to change that voice in my head. Building up confidence with a little win each day and a reminder that I’ll never do it perfectly. But I’ll be honest this hasn’t happened on by own, there is an entire team behind my mindset, and I couldn’t do this work without them.
Here is just the beginning to the list of the people who have helped me shape my mindset and continue to work with me as I travel through looking at myself and my work differently. This team includes:
- A business coach (I worked with one at the start of my business but have since moved on.)
- My therapist
- A health coach
- A supportive community
- A loving spouse
- A dog that sits by my feet and licks me when things get rough
Through working with each and everyone of these team members (yes, that dog included!) I’ve started to approach my work differently. I show up with a different mindset, I prioritize, I give myself grace, and when all else fails I walk away knowing I’ll have something to talk about at my next meeting with whichever team member.
I by no means have this all figured out. It’s a day by day process but the changes I’ve seen in the last year have pushed my business forward and given me a new kind of confidence I didn’t think I’d have. Getting advice from someone we trust to help us make decisions whether personally or professionally is the first step to reaching your goals. After all, what got you here, won’t get you there. So we need to change our tactics, get new tools, and let the outside opinion help us make confidence decisions.
Ready to add a new team member to your mindset work? I now have openings for new coaching clients. Whether you choose to do a one-off hour with me here and there when you need it, or commit to two coaching calls a month, we’ll work together to get clear in your brand, build confidence, and help you take your creative business to the next level.
