A one-liner, an elevator pitch, an ice breaker, whatever you call it, it’s the way to market yourself in 30-seconds or less. So who are you? I don’t mean that in an existential kind of way. Literally, who is your brand? What do you do? Who do you serve? What pain point do you solve? If you had to hesitate on any one of these questions, there’s work to be done. You see, if you aren’t clear in who you are as a brand, your audience will have absolutely no idea. So let’s get clear, right here, right now. You’re about to learn how to write a one liner for your business.
How to Market Yourself in 30-Seconds or Less
Start with what problem do you solve?
This isn’t the above the surface problem of I need yoga pants, I mean what struggle is your customer really facing? If it’s yoga pants, it could be self confidence or needing extra support for their go-getter attitude. If it’s healthy dog food it could be providing energy to play all day or to provide a long healthy life.
The problem is more than just a need, it’s a philosophical dilemma. How will you help them live the life of their dreams? That’s the problem you’re solving.
What’s your product or service?
This is an easy question, don’t over complicate it. In 2-3 words tell me what you sell.
What’s the end result?
How will your customer’s life look different after working with you?
Put it All Together
Now take these three things and put them together in a sentence to create your one liner. If it’s longer than an Instagram bio (150 characters) shorten it. You want to be able to memorize this line and say it in an elevator, write it in the header of your website, and teach your staff to use it all the time.

Knowing who you are is the first step to getting clear in your brand. Your audience can’t fall in love with you until they know exactly who you are and what you can do for them. Don’t make it a guessing game.
