The holidays always feel like a hectic time in business. The combination of holiday sales, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Giving Tuesday, creates a lot of competition and almost no way to stand out. Even the thought of comping up with a Holiday marketing plan feels overwhelming and almost pointless.
But when it comes to holiday marketing here is how you stand out from your competition, you create a marketing plan with intention.
This isn’t about selling the most amount of product possible. This is about continuing to find the customers that will fall in love with your brand and be here for the long term. We’re not interested in followers or one-time purchases, we want customers for a lifetime.
That means, go against the grain. Make a statement about not supporting the super consumeristic days such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Instead, offer deals to long time customers out of the blue. Provide free gifts to customers without telling them about it. Offer the very best customer service you possibly can. And of course, hold true to bringing your customers on a journey where they’re the hero and you’re the guide.
These tactics aren’t just for the holidays, they’re a marketing strategy that works year-round because you’re in this for the long game. You’re here to make lives better and to be of service, not just to sell stuff.
Think about your holiday marketing with intention. Don’t get lost in the chaos that holiday consumerism brings. Focus on what feels right for your brand. What aligns with your values and what goals do you NEED to hit? Set out with a plan that isn’t just Sell, Sell, Sell, and instead find ways to bring value. Serve your community. And get specific about who your community is (it always comes back to that client profile!) That’s what will create customers that keep coming back and spread the word about you.
Of course, if you ever need more guidance on how to serve your customers during this time or how to stand out in the saturated market, you can always reach out to me.
