On the outskirts of San Jose, in Alajuela, we stayed in a garage apartment surrounded by a sweet garden. Our time in this Airbnb was only to get us closer to the airport on our way in and out of the country. It was there that we discovered Entre Nous, a French cafe, and creperie just down the street from our Airbnb, a short little walk through a gated community and along the main road.
The European design of the building combined with the VW bus front counter made this place stand out in a tropical-infused city. For someone who loves all things French it was the perfect find to an already perfect trip.
Sweet and savory crepes filled their menu along with a long list of coffees too. It was one of the few places that spoke almost no English which actually made us enjoy it more. There is something about being immersed in a culture that is just being itself and not changing to fit your American needs.
This little cafe with all its French charm in a Spanish-speaking country, lined in my favorite teal blue colors, was one of my favorite little spots on our trip to Costa Rica. Possibly because it felt so out of place in the middle of a rainforest.
