The holidays are approaching which means we’ve all got shopping on the brain. But what most people don’t think about is gifting art to their friends and family. There seems to be a bunch of myths around buying art and I wanted to extinguish those before it’s too late (as in, you miss out on getting your loved ones the ultimate gift!)
Myth #1: You Can’t Buy Art For Others
Art is deeply personal. For the person who creates it and for the person who buys it. So I can understand feeling like you can’t buy art for someone else. However, like anything else, there is a reason this piece spoke to you and then made you think of someone special. Whether it’s an animal you know they love, a color palette that is just so them, or a theme they need to be reminded of, they came to mind for a reason when seeing that piece which is the Universe/Divine’s way of telling you, it was meant for them.
Myth #2: Art is Too Expensive
Art prints are an approachable way to purchase art for you or a friend. While they may not last for the next 10-generations, they’ll last long after your lifetime and still add the color/content to your space that drew you to it in the first place. Even better, my art prints are regularly just $35 which makes them totally affordable as a gift to your loved one.
Myth #3: They/I have too Much Art
Is that even possible? One of my favorite things to do when I’m feeling like my house needs an update is to switch out the art. Rearrange art into different rooms or layer art in a frame to make it easy to switch out from season to season. Who said that when you buy a piece of art it ALWAYS has to be on display?
This holiday season, give the gift of creativity with art prints and home decor from the Modern Magic shop. It’s a gift that not only says you were thinking of them but that you want to help them create a space of inspired rest too!
